Joy Walters
MEET
Owner, mentor, and stylist, Joy Walters is the epitome of industry experience. Growing up, she was always the go-to hair stylist for her friends, and in 1981 turned her passion into a full-fledged career by graduating from The Tiffin Academy of Hair Design.
A Fostoria native, Joy remembers stopping by Ken's Barber Shop, which then evolved into Hair Expression. After 33 years working for chain and privately owned salons, Joy arrived full circle by purchasing the very local salon she grew up frequenting. After renovations to the building and a rebrand of the business in 2014, local gem SAVVY Hair Expressions was born!

Today, Joy uses her decades of industry experience to mentor young stylists to become “savvy” entrepreneurs through the salon's booth-rent model. As an educator, Joy gets to empower her stylists to develop their skills as artists and emerging business owners.
